Had the range about 3 weeks. Cooks ok but the glass top is terrible!! This range replaced a 20+ year old Jenn-air with a corning ware glass top which looked better than this range after 3 weeks. Also.......getting a F2E1 error with 'call service' on control panel. PLUS....the control is should not be on TOP of stove. Lots of locking the panel and unclocking. LOUD downdraft fan.....and I do mean LOUD

So disappointed...

I had such high hopes for this range. I had a Jenn-Air downdraft range for 16 years and absolutely loved it. I did a lot of research when I had to replace and I thought I had picked the perfect range. I bought this range in March of this year and when I first started using it I could smell burnt plastic every time I used the oven. One morning I went into the kitchen and I could hear a clicking sound and the control panel on the range was blank. I immediately shut off the breaker to the oven and called to have someone come and check it out. It turned out that the panel that is at the back of the oven which has three wires connected to it was overheating and melting! The three wires that were to be tightened onto the panel when it left the warehouse had not been tightened at all and the one wire that amps up the oven was trying to amp itself up and was extremely hot. The wire actually broke off when the technician touched it. Super scary as I had a house fire in 2002 and needless to say, I was very upset that this could have caused another one. I had the technician that KitchenAid sent out replace the panel but I was still very worried about turning on the oven. One month ago when I turned on my oven the fan at the back started to clink very loudly when the oven was heating up. I called the service department...again...and they said they would send a technician. That was one month ago...haven't had a technician show up. I would not recommend KitchenAid to anyone because of their customer service. I am so disappointed and they just don't seem to care. I spend way too much money on this appliance and KitchenAid should be embarrassed by the way they handled my concerns. Two service calls with the first 8 months...not okay.

Not what I expect from Kitchen Aid

This oven is cheaply built but has a premium price tag. Problems I’ve had to date (1year in service): Oven does not keep temp and must be turned off and turned back on to engage heating element. Poor control on all burners- even the precise control burner. Keypad is susceptible to failure if wet. Poorly sealed on top. Any spill can cause keypad to fail. I’ve replaced 2 and was told after most recent service call to replace the entire oven. Getting a single year of use from an oven that costs over $2,000 seems ridiculous to me. I’ll never buy another product from Kitchen Aid after experiencing this oven.

It has taken a bit of learning, but I'm getting better and better with each meal.
