I'm coming up on a year of using this appliance and my favorite feature is the nonstick interior. It's MUCH easier to keep clean compared to my older one. I recently discovered additional settings too for all kinds of alarms and features-nice extra!

The microwave has sufficient power to heat at minimum recommended time and is much quieter than my older one. It is easy to use and has auto features for almost everything.

WMH53520CH - FAILURE/COMMON ISSUE

Have all Whirlpool appliances with great success. Not so much with this microwave. Bought in 8/2015 for kitchen rehab. Installed 10/2015. A little over 2 years later it doesn't work. Recently it started saying "open & close door to start" even though the door was closed. This error started appearing more and more frequently until now the door doesn't close anymore. If you push on the door to close it the microwave starts running even though there's no time or function selected. Waited on hold for ~ 2hrs to speak to someone at Whirlpool and got "we're sorry for the issues that you're having". So many people having the same problem and they claim there is no recall and nothing that they can do. Wouldn't recommend this microwave and reconsidering my choice in manufacturer for any/all future appliance purchases.
